Professional Vegetable Garden Maintenance

Why hire an expert gardener to help you with your garden?

Gardening is a joyful experience – and it’s also a lot of work! Homefront Farmers can help you ensure your organic garden is healthy and productive, allowing you to enjoy it fully, without all the worry and upkeep. Here are some things we can help you with:

Time: Our expert gardeners can spend the time required for planting, weeding, pruning, thinning and more. We do the heavy lifting during our weekly visits and you reap the benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Knowledge and Expertise: While nature provides most of what your organic garden will need, sometimes there are other visitors to your garden, such as insects, disease and other things that only expert gardeners can see – and fix. We have the knowledge and expertise to help with that.

Experience: Why make mistakes when we can avoid them for you! We are happy to help you learn how to avoid common pitfalls in your gardening experience. Homefront Farmers  professional gardeners have seen it all!

Planting will begin as soon as the garden is built with the plants from your crop plan that are appropriate for the time of year. For gardens built in the fall and early spring, we’ll start as soon as the ground thaws (which happens earlier in raised beds). Cool weather crops include vegetables such as snap peas, spinach, lettuce, carrots, beets, and broccoli.

As the season rolls on, we’ll plant the rest of your crops, using organic seeds and transplants, where appropriate, for maximum yield. Our professional gardeners will take the best care of your crops using organic gardening methods of fertilization, thinning and pruning, and weed control to ensure your crops become established and healthy, and continue to produce for the entire season.

Professional Garden Maintenance services include:

Annual garden plan, soil testing, organic soil management, planting, fertilizing, weed control, thinning, pruning, pest and disease mitigation, succession planting, harvesting and clean-up.

Garden Maintenance Plans

Annual Garden Planting Design

The foundation for a successful growing season is a well thought out garden planting design. To develop this design, we will start by sending you a Homefront Farmers Crop Planner, which lets you choose which crops you want, and in what quantities. All this information is fed into a design, which allocates space, by crop, configures plants for maximum overall productivity (accounting for sunlight needs, growing height, companion planting strategies, etc.), and incorporates succession planting to keep the garden producing for as many months as possible.

Full Season Garden Maintenance Package

Our full season maintenance package is all-inclusive, so it covers all start-up services to get your garden off on the right foot, such as planting, fertilization and trellis construction, as well as on-going disease/pest management, weed management, succession plantings, pruning, thinning, harvesting, end of season cleanup, and an annual soil test. Large scale soil amendments are not included in any garden maintenance packages; cost will be determined once the results of the garden soil test are seen.

Harvesting your fruits and vegetables is fun! We will provide you with instructions on how and when to harvest!

Or, if you prefer, Homefront Farmers will pick all that is ready each time we visit your organic vegetable garden and leave the fresh produce at your door. Contact Homefront Farmers today for professional vegetable garden maintenance!
