About Homefront Farmers
Homefront Farmers is a family-owned business, founded in 2011. Our core business focuses on helping bring all the benefits of an edible organic garden to people’s lives. We design, build and maintain custom at-home gardens with the goal of helping people produce their own food organically. We design beautiful, functional raised bed gardens that are built to last, season after season, and provide our clients with all the guidance and help they need to maintain it all season long. We also offer our clients other homesteading services, including beekeeping.
Homefront Farmers has a staff of 16 organic gardening professionals, who are passionate about what we do for our 200+ clients and consider it a labor of love to serve our clients and provide them with the joy of growing! We are based on a beautiful farm in Redding Connecticut.

Qualifications
- Professional experience in farming, gardening, or landscaping (1 year preferred- however, we will train right candidates)
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- The ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 40lbs
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation: employees will use their personal vehicles to haul plants and supplies to gardens (mileage will be reimbursed)
- A willingness to work as part of a team, or independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for organic gardening and sustainability

Homestead Manager (Organic Gardening Team Member)
Homestead Manager
Homefront Farmers is looking to hire 1-2 organic gardeners (“Homestead Managers”) for the 2025 season. We are a vegetable gardening company serving clients in Connecticut and Westchester County, NY. As a member of our gardening team, you will plant and maintain a number of home vegetable gardens throughout the year. We will provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure your assigned gardens are productive, healthy, and beautiful. Days can be long and challenging. However, we have a supportive, collaborative work environment and like to have fun, too!
Qualifications
- Professional experience in farming, gardening, or landscaping (1 year preferred- however, we will train right candidates)

- Able to commute daily to Redding, CT
Compensation
This is a full-time, year-round, salaried position, with entry level pay of $42,000. Benefits include 10 days paid vacation, paid holidays (plus 2 floating holidays for religious observances), optional health insurance (after 2 months), 401(k) (after 6 months), and use of a company vehicle during the garden maintenance season (for employees aged 25+).
Our sister company, Nod Hill Brewing Company, also offers all employees a 25% discount.
