What Will My Raised Bed Garden Look Like?
Homefront Farmers’ custom, cedar raised bed gardens are designed to be a beautiful addition to any property. Handcrafted from the highest quality untreated cedar (the gold standard for raised bed construction), wire mesh and gate hardware, our raised bed and fence design can be built to any size and adapted to a sloping grade. Raised beds are configured to maximize growing space and ensure all parts of the garden are easily reached. The design also enables efficient irrigation system layout. Fencing is required to keep out the three main garden pests – deer, woodchucks and rabbits. Our residential garden fences are high enough to discourage deer, the openings are small enough to keep out rabbits, and the wire mesh floor excludes woodchucks.
Our garden design includes an exterior “window box” bed. This feature functions as a place to plant crops such as garlic and onions that naturally deter non-beneficial insects, flowering herbs that attract beneficial insects and also serves as a deterrent to deer (who have poor depth perception and are confused by it). The exterior bed also enhances aesthetic appeal by breaking up some of the fence height.
We strongly recommend installing a fully automated drip irrigation system. Homefront Farmers can recommend a lawn irrigation company or can work with your lawn irrigation company to coordinate installation.

Organic Garden Design Pricing
Given the wide variety of potential vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, fruit trees and bushes available for your organic garden, all seeds and transplants are priced individually based on your selections.
Prices for annual maintenance of your organic garden are comparable to other property care such as lawn mowing and are customized to fit the garden design size and crop plan.
