Dan has been passionate about food and where it comes from for quite some time. His journey towards agriculture began in AP Environmental Science class at Wilton High School. There he learned about the rifts in our modern food systems and decided to take a step closer. That first step turned into several as he began using his free periods to pick the brain of his teacher, Jim Hunter. Jim happened to be the head of the Organic Garden Club at Wilton High and had some connections with local farms. One thing led to another and Dan had his first job in agriculture, working at Millstone Farmstead in Wilton, CT.

Dan spent 5 years getting his hands dirty and soaking up as much knowledge as he could from his peers. During that time, he was also able to study at Western Connecticut State University following his other passion, music. With a degree in Audio and Music Production, Dan was then faced with a difficult choice, keep working on the farm or pursue a career in music production? Dan chose to take a job at a recording studio in Norwalk, CT where he was able to hone his skills and get a feel for the industry. After 3 years behind the desk he decided it was time to get back outside. He was introduced to Homefront Farmers by his long-time friend and former manager, Taylor Matzke.

With a new job in agriculture, Dan looks forward to furthering his knowledge of the craft and getting his hands back in the dirt. His long term goal is to start a homestead with his partner Chloe and continue adding to his rapidly expanding home studio. He currently lives in Wilton with his mum and two dogs Charlie and Parker. In his free time, Dan enjoys woodworking, hanging out with his dogs, and working on his music.
