Lily Burns

Lily Burns’ love of gardening and sustainability began in early childhood. She attended the Culinary Institute of America for college, where a lecture given by chef Alice Waters sparked Lily’s interest in farm to table, local, responsible food-sourcing and the Slow Food Movement. Deciding a career in the food service industry wasn’t for her, and drawing on her love of kids and nature, she taught at the Seven Acres Montessori School in Wilton before having her two children, five year old Trip and two year old Magnolia. She has been the farm manager of Lachat Town Farm in Weston for the past three years, and in addition to her farm responsibilities, spearheaded the Little Farmhands Summer Program and Tiny Sprouts Forest School Program.
