John Cichon

John grew up with the contrasting urban decay of the steel industry alongside the beauty of the Lake Michigan coastline. He spent his youth outdoors with family. His grandfather grew up in the era of the Victory Garden, resulting in memorable feats of family canning events. In his previous life John spent nearly three decades navigating the art world, beginning in Chicago and shifting to NYC in 2007, where he worked as a freelancer with nearly all of the major museums as a steward of their collections and exhibitions.

John believes life is cyclical and with the recent tumult in the world he was afforded the opportunity to complete a Certificate in Gardening from the New York Botanical Garden. John spent a formative year container gardening and parlays what he learned into maintaining raised beds with flowers & vegetables. John believes a garden is a dynamic living sculpture that can be a visual feast full of wonder, beauty, memories and sustenance that nurture people spiritually, psychologically and physically.
